Steinway Concert Hall in Scottsdale

2 pm

Join us for the opening of the 2026–2027 Scottsdale Chamber Music Series season on Sunday, November 8, 2026 at 2:00 PM at Steinway Concert Hall in Scottsdale with an afternoon of captivating chamber music performed by members of the Scottsdale Symphonic Orchestra and special guests.

How often do you get to be in the audience for a world premiere? Michelle Wall and pianist Dr. Kristin Holton Prouty will perform Alexis Aranda’s La Adoración de los Magos, giving our audience the chance to hear a new work take its first bow. You can enjoy a sneak peek [here—insert listening link], then experience it live with us.

Heather Van Beek continues to share her wonderfully unusual clarinet collection with us, this time bringing the basset clarinet to the stage alongside pianist Christine Kyhn in Peter Schickele’s Duo Sonata. With movements ranging from “Serenade” to “Pirate Variations,” that should give you a hint of the personality in store.

You’ll also get an early introduction to a musical story that continues in March. Flutist Robert Heiligenberg, joined by pianist Olga Garelik, will perform the first movement of Reinecke’s Flute Concerto. On March 21, Robert returns to this beautiful work as soloist with the Scottsdale Symphonic Orchestra. Hearing it first with piano offers a wonderfully intimate perspective before you hear it surrounded by the orchestra.

The Scottsdale Chamber Music Series offers audiences the rare opportunity to experience exceptional musicians up close in an intimate setting where the connection between performers and listeners is immediate and personal.

Admission is free, but tickets are limited. To help us continue offering these concerts to the community, please consider selecting our “Pay What You Can” ticket option or making a donation to support the production costs. Every contribution helps keep great music accessible to all.
