Scottsdale Symphonic Orchestra

Support the Orchestra

The Scottsdale Symphonic Orchestra is a non-profit organization and tax-exempt under 501(c)(3).

It’s our mission to transform lives by providing musicians and classical music audiences in Scottsdale and the surrounding communities equal access to a full, vibrant creative life.

Our mission extends beyond the stage to cultivate a culture of accessibility, inclusivity, and education in classical music. Grounded in the values of musical excellence, respect and kindness, we serve, inspire and unite our diverse communities, fostering a love for symphonic music while nurturing the next generation of musicians and classical music audiences.

Our vision is to foster a love for symphonic music while supporting the growth of the next generation of musicians and classical music audiences in Scottsdale and the surrounding communities.

Our orchestra consists of 70 professionally-trained musicians providing a series of 6 season concerts annually at the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts.  As a new organization, we need our community’s help in funding our planned programs, which include;

  • A series of free chamber music concerts (implemented thanks to the generous donations by our supporters!)
  • A scholarship program for young musicians who study music performance at the collegiate level
  • Free concerts for elementary and middle school students
  • Pre-concert series and education for those new to classical music
  • Free concerts at community locations such as hospice and senior living facilities
  • Free concert tickets for Military and Veterans (implemented thanks to the generous donations by our supporters!)

Ticket sales from our main concert series cover approximately 50% of our costs to present our season concert series.

We operate in a fiscally conservative manner.  All eight of our board members are volunteers and our Executive Director is also 100% volunteer.  However, there are still expenses related to the production of our concerts that need your help and support to enable us to continue to provide our community with outstanding symphonic music performances.

Thank you for considering a donation to the Scottsdale Symphonic Orchestra.

Guidestar has awarded the Scottsdale Symphonic Orchestra the Candid Seal of Transparency.

There are many ways you can help the orchestra!

Whether you can volunteer your time or donate funds, your support is needed to help us reach those who need music the most.

Volunteers help our organization operate.  Some of the ways volunteers help us are by assisting patrons at concerts, helping set up the concert and rehearsal venues, managing the sheet music library, coordination, recruiting and scheduling of musicians, moving percussion equipment to and from the concert locations, and providing in-kind donations of professional services such as press relations, social media, bookkeeping, legal and risk management advice, and more.

Donors help us pay for those services needed to operate an orchestra that volunteers can’t cover.

If you would like to discuss ways you can help us achieve our mission, please complete the form below to request an exploratory call.
