Scottsdale Symphonic Orchestra Launches Arizona Chamber Music Weekend
A new three-day immersive experience brings musicians together for coaching, collaboration, and performance

Scottsdale, AZ — The Scottsdale Symphonic Orchestra announces the launch of Arizona Chamber Music Weekend, an immersive three-day program designed to bring musicians together in a collaborative, supportive environment centered on chamber music.

Created as an extension of the Scottsdale Chamber Music Series, Arizona Chamber Music Weekend offers participants the opportunity to perform in small ensembles, receive personalized coaching from distinguished professional musicians, and culminate their experience with a live public performance.

Over the course of the weekend, participants will be thoughtfully placed into chamber groups and work closely with a faculty of four accomplished coaches: internationally acclaimed violinist Danwen Jiang, bassoonist and educator Dr. Michelle Fletcher, hornist Katherine Phillips, and conductor and Scottsdale Symphonic Orchestra Artistic Director Desmond Siu. Together, the faculty brings a depth of performance experience, pedagogical expertise, and a shared commitment to fostering meaningful musical collaboration.

“Chamber music is one of the most powerful ways to connect as musicians,” said Desmond Siu. “This weekend is about creating a space where musicians can explore that connection, refine their artistry, and build relationships in a welcoming and encouraging environment.”

Arizona Chamber Music Weekend is designed for dedicated musicians seeking to deepen their ensemble skills, reconnect with the intimacy of small-group performance, and engage with a community of like-minded artists. The program emphasizes both musical growth and the camaraderie that defines great chamber music experiences.

The registration fee is $295 per participant, which includes all rehearsals, coachings, and the final performance. In keeping with the organization’s mission of accessibility, scholarships are available, and no musician will be turned away due to financial need.

Participation is limited to maintain a high-quality, personalized experience
